Visa Information

If you are a foreign national seeking to study in the UK on one of our courses, you may need to apply for a visa.

There are a number of different visas for study in the UK. The visa you need will depend on your nationality, and how long you plan to study for.

OISC is an accredited institution for the purposes of study visa applications. OISC is also a licensed Student Sponsor with the UKVI.

Standard Visitor Visa

This visa allows for up 6 months of study, in any subject area – English Language or an academic programme. There is no minimum English Language requirement for this visa.

Short-Term Study Visa

This visa is for students planning to study English Language only for more than 6 months. You can study for up to 11 months on this visa. There is no minimum English Language requirement for this visa.

Student Visa (previously Tier 4 Visa)

This visa is for students planning to study an academic programme for more than 6 months (for example, a full-time A-Level or GCSE programme), or an English Language programme for more than 11 months.

Students applying for this visa must meet strict entry requirements. One of these is a minimum level of English Language: students must achieve at least CEFR Level B1 (IELTS 4.0, in all areas).
