About Us

Oxford International Study Centre (OISC) is a private tutorial college and language school based in the heart of Oxford, UK, with a reputation for excellence in delivering a range of language, academic, and corporate training programmes at all academic levels.

OISC was established in 2006, and senior management had occupied similar posts in two other international Colleges before that date.

Quality Education & Training

OISC is located on St Aldates, in the very centre of Oxford, between Christ Church and the Town Hall. The study centre occupies a beautiful and historic building, with many original features, and houses 12 classrooms, as well as office space, common rooms, and private study areas. In fact, it’s the lovely red building you can see in the beautiful watercolour painting of St Aldates below, by our friend, local artist Katherine Shock.

The quality of education and training is first rate: we have been awarded the highest grade (‘exceeds expectations’) at every inspection in the last ten years by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI). The quality of training and education offered by OISC is further attested to by a wide range of accreditations and professional memberships.

Message from the Principal

OISC is situated in the very heart of the university city, between the Town Hall and Christ Church, Oxford's most famous college.

Oxford itself is a world-renowned university city, with its origins dating back over eight hundred years. Home to Oxford Brookes University, as well as the world-famous colleges of Oxford University, the city is an unparalleled centre of learning. The beautiful architecture provides a spectacular and inspiring backdrop for academic, business, and cultural programmes for visitors and students from all over the world - and many of them choose OISC.

We are very lucky to occupy two beautiful and prestigious buildings right in the centre of Oxford: our St Aldates Centre is over four hundred years old, and retains its beamed ceilings, and many other original features reflecting its long history – as an old coaching inn, and a bank, among other things! The King Edward Street Centre is right in the heart of Oxford’s academic district, surrounded by some of the university’s most famous colleges, as well as shops, cafés, and restaurants – a fantastic place to study.

We aim, above all, to support all students in achieving their personal educational goals, through learning in a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment. Each student has a different personality and learning style and we pride ourselves on our flexibility: we want to provide the right course for you, whatever that course looks like.

We look forward to welcoming you to OISC.
