Bildungsurlaub Englisch und Geschäftsenglisch in Oxford

Ein – oder zweiwöchig

Englisch und Geschäftsenglisch

Oxford International Study Centre offers tailor-made programmes in English and Business English for individuals and groups of professionals.

Participants can choose either Intensive English Language (General), or English + Business English. Both options meet the required course hours for Bildungsurlaub approval (22.5h/week).

All participants, for both course options, have General English group classes, which are mixed-nationality, each morning from 09.15 – 12.30. In the afternoons, participants then have either further General English classes, or Business English classes, from 13.30 – 15.00.

Participants are placed into morning classes based on their level of English, which is assessed via an online placement test ahead of arrival. Participants of all language levels are welcome to join these programmes, but we advise that participants taking the Business English option have at least B1 level.

The fees are £400/week for the Intensive General English option, or £550/week for the English + Business English option.

In addition to our 22.5 hours of language lessons per week, we offer an extra 7.5 hours of political and cultural studies/activities (totaling 30 hours). While optional for most participants, these become mandatory for Bildungsurlaub from Baden-Württemberg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, and states requiring 30 full hours weekly.

The aim of General English is to develop language skills in the context of the workplace. The programme includes written and spoken communication skills, reading for gist, interpreting information, presentations, and pronunciation.

The aim of the Business English classes is to focus upon the language needs of the participant’s specific business role, eg. finance, marketing, intercultural communications, or presentation and public speaking skills. We ask all participants to complete a detailed Needs Analysis ahead of the programme, outlining their current role and responsibilities, as well as their main aims for the course, to ensure needs are met.

This course is taught by specialist tutors with practical experience of the business environment , as well as appropriate academic qualifications.
